Sudhir Choudhrie is a recognized vintage car and Indian art collector. Together with his wife in 2008, he launched the Stellar International Art Foundation. The foundation boasts having a collection of more than 600 Indian art pieces. In 2015, the art foundation had its first exhibition in London featuring some iconic works by M.F. Husain, India’s Picasso.
The large collection also includes some of the best accomplished Indian contemporary artists, including Paresh Maity. Other artists featured in the artwork are Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor, Damian Hirst, and Tracey Emin. Choudhrie’s car interest started when the entrepreneur was still young. He remembers he collected over 100 Dinky cars. Now an adult, Choudhrie has collected vintage cars from several origins. To restore the cars into show condition, he regularly works with mechanics. The whole process can sometimes take up to a decade because some car parts are very rare. His efforts have not gone unnoticed as Sudhir’s collection has been labeled one of India’s best.
In 2010, Sudhir Choudhrie became a full-on British national. He has become a supporter of a specific party in the UK with this. He supports and has worked with the Liberal Democrat Party members to establish an Indian-British relationship. In 2015, Tim Farron appointed Sudhir as their advisor to build further the corporate and societal connection between the Indian and British communities. Apart from business and art collection, Sudhir Choudhrie has always been interested in philanthropy. He is especially focused on supporting educational, medical, and health projects across the UK, US, and even other countries worldwide.
The funds continue to be used to help children in their studies and even health experts in studies. For instance, a contribution by Choudhrie continues to support cardio-vascular medicine research, with one goal of the study being to help organ donors.
